Community involvement keeps it all about the kids
In recent weeks, schools throughout Boulder Valley School District have celebrated the start of construction projects which will bring much needed facilities improvements. These ground breaking events mark the fruition of efforts that began four years ago with a deliberate, community-based process. As a member of the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee, I think it is important for the Boulder Valley School District community to know that a very thoughtful, conscientious process is being used by the district to plan for, design and construct the projects authorized by the taxpayers of BVSD.

 About the committee


The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee
monitors the 2006 bond issue approved by the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) voters on November 7, 2006. The committee provides an independent review of the bond projects that comprise the 2006 Bond Issue which are described in the Educational Facilities Master Plan. This monitoring and review is intended to provide a high level of accountability and communication on behalf of the Board of Education to the citizens of the Boulder Valley School District.

The Committee Description was approved by the Board of Education at its Dec. 12, 2006, meeting.

 Meetings


The start time for Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee meetings is 5 p.m. Meetings will be held on the following dates:

  • October 2, 2008, Southern Hills Middle School, 1500 Knox Drive, Boulder
  • December 4, 2008, location to be determined
  • February 5, 2009, location to be determined

Draft meeting minutes will be posted within approximately 3 weeks of the meeting date. Meetings are audio recorded. Recordings, hard copies of the meeting minutes and any handouts can be obtained from the bond office. Contact Kim Mann at 303-447-5062.
